The Artist That Moved Me
When I first saw Kiefer at an exhibition in London, while I was studying at the Royal College of Art, my encounter with his work, in full size and with its materiality erupting past the boundaries of the wall and the room, was breathtaking. Whether it is landscapes, which are places with a particular sense of history, or installations with oversize books or falling airplanes, his work is the history of his country through his visual interpretation in a sublime way. I bow before each one of his works.
