Flower, 2018

This work is directly related to my work entitled “September 2009 (II)”, which belongs to the Sotiris Felios Collection. In my drawings, I attempt to capture the sense of peace, by creating islets of calm. What may look like a simple composition, however, is at odds with the complexity of the internal structure. Unexpected objects are suddenly juxtaposed in new, exciting ways, just like in the music of Toru Takemitsu, who has been my inspiration for this series of drawings. Representative pieces by him are “Archipelagos S.” and “How Slow the Wind”.
