The exhibition includes 40 paintings by the Emmanouil Bitsakis from The Sotiris Felios Collection, which have been created between 1998 and 2017. Additionally, the exhibition includes a fascinating collection of the artist’s notebooks.

The title of the exhibition “Persistent Minimum” almost automatically refers to the construction – with a consistent obsession – of small-scale paintings. Emmanouil Bitsakis creates paintings, composing controlled and perfectly organized microcosms, with repetitive motifs that serve the juxtaposition between the logical-irrational, acceptable-unacceptable, cliché-subversive. His paintings are a peculiar artistic “collage”, where different historical epochs and stylistic tendencies are intertwined.
