In her compositions, Dimitra Siaterli approaches the web through multifaceted movements, seeking, each time, a different content and meaning: The web as an existential labyrinth, a network of communication and contact, spreading, fruitful cohabitation and exchange of ideas, as a cohesive, indissoluble bond between individuals and cultures, as an ambush, threat and creeping fear, as an urban plan or a dividing line-border on the global geopolitical map, as a symbol of inexhaustible creativity. Her reflection extends and raises issues concerning the role of the artist as a craftsman-manualist, the concepts of femininity and gender identity and the definition of the work of art, knitting, which has deep roots in the female psyche, as a dynamic, contemporary alternative choice of artistic expression.
