The Affinities section of the new, redesigned website for the Sotiris Felios Collection is a uniquely innovative concept, and served as the inspiration for the art exhibition of the same title, which opens on Wednesday, June 12, at 8 p.m., at 16 Fokionos Negri.

In the “Affinities” exhibition (Facebook event), twenty-four artists from the Sotiris Felios Collection reveal intellectual affinities that they recognise in works of painting, as well as in theatrical, cinematic, musical, literary and other creations of the contemporary international art world. Through an informal dialogue with works born under different socio-spatial conditions, each artist confides personal points of reference, points out mutual quests, or indicates underground threads that comprise complex fields of influence. Using doodles, sketches, drawings, small pictures and very few words, what the artists present here is an image of the emotion caused in them by identifying spiritually with another work of art, of a different environment, responding to creation with creation.

The exhibition will present those small works and texts by the artists, as well as their corresponding works in the Sotiris Felios Collection, with which their creators wish to associate them.
