Young Printmakers 2025-2026
This is the eighth edition of the “Young Printmakers” exhibition series, which began in 1991 and has since become an established institution. Supporting emerging artists has always been one of the primary goals of the A. Tassos Foundation. The exhibition is dedicated to young printmakers—graduates of printmaking departments from any Fine Arts School in Greece. Selected works, along with the artists’ engagement with the challenges of establishing themselves in the art world, have always served as a testament to their readiness to participate.
A three- or four-member committee from the Foundation—typically composed of professionals connected with the art world, including professors and curators—has consistently overseen the selection process. Participating artists are proposed by their professors and generally fall within the age range of 25 to 40.
Two factors have contributed to both the continuity and the significance of the Young Printmakers exhibitions. First, specific museums and galleries across Greece—mainly municipal galleries—regularly host the exhibition, including venues in Kalamata, Volos, Karditsa, Patras, Larissa, Kozani, and even Nicosia. Second, over the decades, similar exhibitions have emerged, often as traveling shows with various themes, across multiple Greek cities. This is particularly important for the challenging field of traditional printmaking, as these exhibitions not only introduce the public to the art form but also provide young printmakers with invaluable opportunities to connect with audiences in every city.
